Eyes Between Us
Right before it begins.
Debbie is lying back, one knee bent, the other leg stretched out toward me.
He’s kneeling over her, leaning in slowly, the weight of his body hovering above hers.
His hand is braced beside her head, the other resting high on her thigh.
She’s breathing deeper now, eyes flicking between his face and mine.
I let the moment hang there — right before he moves.
